Shake the liquid well for 5 to 10 seconds before each use to mix the medicine evenly. Swallow the tablets and capsules with a full glass of water.The following symptoms are common, but if you experience any of them call your doctor immediately: hives, skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs.

Dexamethasone Teaching 1710

Skilled nurse instructed patient about medication Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Dexamethasone is also used to treat certain types of cancer. Your doctor may instruct you to follow a low-sodium, low-salt, potassium-rich, or high-protein diet. Follow these directions. Dexamethasone may cause an upset stomach. Take dexamethasone with food or milk. Dexamethasone may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away: upset stomach, stomach irritation, vomiting, headache, dizziness.

Oxycodone Teaching 1715

SN instructed patient about oxycodone/ acetaminophen ,non-serious adverse reactions include lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness or sedation, nausea, and vomiting. These effects seem to be more prominent in ambulatory than in no ambulatory patients, and some of these adverse reactions may be alleviated if the patient lies down. Other adverse reactions include euphoria, dysphoria, constipation, and pruritus. Serious SE/AR include respiratory depression, apnea, respiratory arrest, circulatory depression, hypotension, and shock .

Apresoline Teaching 1733

SN instructed in new medication Apresoline ( Hydralazine ), its uses as a vasodilator to decrease BP and common side effects such as; Headache, anorexia, dizziness, hypotension, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, palpitations, tachycardia, angina pectoris. Patient was instructed on the signs and symptoms of hypotension that may happen in a few seconds or minutes of standing up after been sitting or lying down. It feel like fainting. Signs include: dizziness, blurry vision, confusion, weakness and nausea. Those symptoms go away if sitting or lying down for few minutes until the blood pressure adjusts to normal.

Losartan Teaching 1734

Instructed patient about Losartan, it is used toTreat hypertension and reducing the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy. Possible SE/AR may include, Diarrhea, Muscle cramps, Dizziness, Insomnia, Nasal congestion. Losartan also may cause: A persistent cough, an increase serum potassium and Impotence.

Bactrim Teaching 1735

SN instructed patient and caregiver about Bactrim. Bactrim is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections, including urinary tract infections, ear infections, enteritis, pneumonia, traveler's diarrhea, and episodes of difficulty breathing in people with chronic bronchitis. Serious allergic reactions, such as skin rash, sore throat, fever, joint pain, cough, shortness of breath, paleness, or yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes. Low platelet levels that may be life-threatening, but usually go back to normal within a week of stopping treatment with Bactrim. Watery and bloody stools.

Clonidine Teaching 1736

SN instructed patient and caregiver about Clonidine, it is used alone or with other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Possible SE/AR may include: dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, dry mouth, or constipation may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water, or use a saliva substitute. Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: fainting, slow/irregular heartbeat, mental/mood changes like, irritability, depression.

Taztia Teaching 1737

Patient was instructed about Taztia ( Diltiazem ), it belongs to a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing the muscles of your heart and blood vessels. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (chest pain), and certain heart rhythm disorders. Possible SE/AR may include, dizziness. When you sit or lie down for a while, get up slowly to allow your body to adjust and minimize dizziness. Also may also experience bloating, heartburn, muscle cramps, headache, flushing, nasal congestion, sore throat, constipation or diarrhea. Inform your doctor if they become bothersome. Notify your doctor if you develop, breathing difficulties, swelling of the hands or feet, an irregular heartbeat.

Seroquel Teaching 1741

SN instructed patient's CG about Quetiapine (Seroquel), it is an atypical antipsychotic approved for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and along with an antidepressant to treat major depressive disorder. Possible SE/AR may include, dry mouth, dizziness, headache, somnolence. Some common adverse effects, high blood pressure, orthostatic hypotension, high pulse rate, high blood cholesterol, elevated serum triglycerides, abdominal pain, constipation, increased appetite, vomiting, among others.

Fludrocortisone Teaching 1743

Fludrocortisone is a corticosteroid. It works by causing the kidneys to retain sodium and acting as a replacement for cortisone when the body does not produce enough.Carry an ID card at all times that says you take fludrocortisone. Tell your doctor or dentist that you take fludrocortisone before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.Fludrocortisone may cause an increase in blood pressure, salt and water retention, and calcium and potassium loss. Talk with your doctor to see if you need to decrease the amount of salt in your diet or take a calcium or vitamin D supplement. Check with your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome:Difficulty sleeping; dizziness or lightheadedness; headache; increased appetite; increased sweating; indigestion; nervousness
