Healthy diet Teaching 2405

SN instructed patient/cg regarding diet modification promoting wound healing: increase protein in your diet. Food reach in protein: eggs, meat, cheese, milk, fish, peanut butter, legumes. Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Eat food reach in vitamin C ( citrus fruits and juices, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, potatoes) and zinc such as fortified cereals, red meat, and seafood. Patient Verbalize 80% understanding: Requires more instructions.

Dehydration Teaching 2430

Patient instructed on the importance of drinking 6-8 glasses of water per day. Hydration is important for wound healing, healthy skin, digestion, healthy kidneys, and electrolyte balance. Instructed on the increased risk for dehydration during the summer months.

Instructed to contact physician inmediately if uncontrolled bleeding or excruciating pain occurs at wound site.

Instructed in management and control of wound through activity such as frequent rest periods, no overexertion, no lifting, bending or stooping. Passive and active exercises to increase vascular tone. Elevate affected extremity to promote venous return. Give pain medication, if prescribed, 30 minutes prior to any activity.
