SN instructed patient and caregiver that Diazepam can be habit-forming, so it's not typically used for long-term treatment or for people who've had problems with drug or alcohol abuse. This high risk benzodiazepine should never be taken more frequently or in higher doses than prescribed due to risk of overdose. S/s overdose include dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, lethargy and respiratory depression and even death in severe cases, especially when combined with EtOH or opiates. Patient and caregiver state they will only administer this medication
as prescribed.
Patient instructed on new medication
Abilify. Abilify is used to treat the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder (manic depression). It is also used together with other medicines to treat major depressive disorder in adults. May be taken with or without food, take at the same time daily. Do not stop abruptly or change dosage without consulting prescriber. Notify prescriber if unusual or bothersome side effects occur.
Patient instructed Protonix (pantoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor that decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Take once daily in the morning with or without food. Common Protonix side effects may include: headache, dizziness; stomach pain, gas, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; joint pain; or fever, rash, or cold symptoms. Instructed to notify prescriber if unusual or bothersome side effects occur or medication
is not effective.

Sulindac. Sulindac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Sulindac works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Sulindac is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, bursitis, or gout. Patient verbalized understanding.

Sulindac can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Even people without heart disease or risk factors could have a stroke or heart attack while taking this medicine. trazadone. Common side-effects include dry mouth, feeling faint, vomiting, and headache. More serious side effects may include suicide, mania, irregular heart rate, and pathologically prolonged erections.It is unclear if use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is safe. It is a phenylpiperazine compound of the serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor (SARI) class. Trazodone also has sedating effects.
SN explained to patient that Diflucan is used to treat serious fungal or yeast infections, such as urinary tract infections. It works by stopping the growth of Candida. It usually starts to work within one day, but it may take 3 days for your symptoms to improve and up to 7 days for your symptoms to disappear. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset/pain, headache, dizziness, or hair loss may occur while using Diflucan.

Cyproheptadine hydrochloride (CH) is a first-generation antihistamine which is used as an appetite stimulant.Side effects of Cyproheptadine may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:dry mouth, nose, and throat, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, chest congestion, headache, excitement (especially in children), muscle weakness.
