SN instructed patient on diabetic diet:it is commonly thought that people with diabetes should avoid all forms of sugar. Most people with diabetes can eat foods containing sugar as long as the total amount of carbohydrates (carbs) for that meal or snack is consistent.Many research studies have shown that meals which contain sugar do not make the blood sugar rise higher than meals of equal carbohydrate levels which do not contain sugar. However, if the sugar-containing meal contains more carbs, the blood sugar levels will go up.

SN teaching about Gastroesophageal reflux disease ( GERD ). Examples of things to reduce or steer clear of in your diet include: high fat foods, caffeine products, chocolate, onions, peppermint, carbonated beverages, citrus and tomato products. Do not lie down immediately after eating, avoid late evening snacks, avoid tight clothing and bending over after eating. Elevate the head of the bed six to eight inches to prevent reflux when sleeping. Extra pillows, by themselves, are not very helpful.

To reduce your risk of complications associated with Paget disease of bone, try these tips, prevent falls by using assistive devices like a walker or cane, fall - proof your home. Remove slippery floor coverings, use nonskid mats in your bathtub or shower, eat well. Be sure your diet includes adequate levels of calcium and vitamin D, which helps bones absorb calcium and exercise regularly. Regular exercise is essential for maintaining joint mobility and bone strength.

Hyperlipidemia Teaching 2307

SN instructed patient on hyperlipidemia also known as hyperlipoproteinemia. It is a condition in which there are high levels of fat particles (lipids) in the blood. These substances can deposit in blood vessel walls and restrict blood flow. This creates a risk of heart attack and stroke. Hyperlipidemia doesn't cause any symptoms. The condition is diagnosed by routine blood tests, recommended every five years for adults. Treatments include medication, a healthy diet, and exercise.
