Patient was instructed on hyperglycemia disease. Hyperglycemia one of the classic symptoms excessive urination. But also feeling ill, nausea, with vomiting, stomach pain
, dehydration (dry mouth and skin) fruity acetone breath, deep rapid breathing, drowsiness and mental illness are other hyperglycemia symptoms.
Patient was instructed on diabetes symptoms. People with diabetes who have had high blood sugar levels for long periods of time can develop complications, including: Damage to the eyes (retinopathy) which can lead to blindness. Damage to the nerves (neuropathy), which can lead to numbness, tingling or pain
in the legs and arms. Damage to the kidneys (nephropathy), which can result in kidney failure.
Instructed in use of Procardia to control chest pain
and high blood pressure.
Instructed on some signs/symptoms of respiratory infection, such as: fever, chest pain
and chills, among others.
Taught that, in Angina Pectoris, pain
may occur in the inner aspects of arms, upper abdomen and shoulders.
Taught that chest pain
(ranging from mild to very severe) and anxiety may constitute as signs and/or symptoms of Angina Pectoris.
SN instructed patient and caregiver that Plavix is used to prevent heart attacks and strokes in persons with heart disease, recent stroke and/or blood circulation disease (peripheral vascular disease). Easy bleeding/bruising, stomach upset/pain
, diarrhea, and constipation may occur.
Taught that Lyrica is used to treat pain
caused by nerve damage due to diabetes.
Taught that Lyrica is an oral medication that is used for treating pain
caused by neurologic diseases such as postherpetic neuralgia as well as seizures. It also is used for treating fibromyalgia.
Taught that Crestor may infrequently cause some serious side effects, such as: muscle pain
/tenderness/weakness (especially with fever or unusual tiredness) and change in the amount of urine.
