When taken as an immediate-release oral formulation, the onset of pain relief usually occurs within about an hour serious side effects may include seizures, increased risk of serotonin syndrome, decreased alertness, and drug addiction. A change in dosage may be recommended in those with kidney or liver problems. Its not recommended in women who are breastfeeding or those who are at risk of suicide. The most common adverse effects of tramadol may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, indigestion, abdominal pain, vertigo, vomiting, constipation, drowsiness and headache

Bladder infection Teaching 2042

SN instructed that symptoms of a lower urinary tract infection or bladder infection may include: Frequent need to urinate, burning sensation while urinating pressure in the lower abdomen, pain in the lower back blood in urine. Symptoms of an upper urinary tract infection or a kidney infection may include: Fever, chills, nausea and / or vomiting, Pain higher in the back ( around the upper sides and waist ). In women, the symptoms of a urinary tract infection are similar to those caused by some vaginal infections.

Diovan Teaching 2086

SN instructed patient / caregiver regarding medication Diovan. Explained that diovan is used to treat high blood pressure ( hypertension ) and heart failure. Explained that the high blood pressure reduction helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems and that this drug works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels, causing them to widen. SN explained to patient / caregiver that side effects of this medication includes dizziness, lightheadedness, tiredness, or blurred vision as your body adjusts to the medication. SN instructed that if any of these effects persist or worsen, to notify doctor immediately.

SN instructed thats cystitis is inflammation of the bladder, usually caused by a bladder infection. It's a common type of urinary tract infection ( UTI ), particularly in women, and is usually more of a nuisance than a cause for serious concern. Mild cases will often get better by themselves within a few days. However, some people experience episodes of cystitis frequently and may need regular or long - term treatment. There's also a chance that cystitis could lead to a more serious kidney infection in some cases, so it's important to seek medical advice if your symptoms don't improve.

Humalog Teaching 2160

SN instructed patient on Humalog 75-25, stated that it is used along with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with diabetes. This product is a combination of two man - made insulins: intermediate - acting insulin lispro protamine and rapid - acting insulin lispro. This combination starts working faster and lasts for a longer time than regular insulin. Insulin is a natural substance that allows the body to properly use sugar from the diet. It replaces the insulin that your body no longer produces, thereby lowering your blood sugar. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. SN also instructed that pain, redness, swelling or itching at the injection site may occur. These effects usually go away after a few days or weeks. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Patient/caregiver instructed Allopurinol reduces the production of uric acid in your body. Uric acid buildup can lead to gout or kidney stones. Take once daily as ordered with a full glass of water. Medication may weaknen your immune system, avoid sick persons. Common side effects are vomiting, diarrhea; drowsiness, headache; changes in your sense of taste; or muscle pain. Notify SN/MD if experiencing bothersome or unusual side effects.
