Entresto. This medication
is used to treat certain types of heart failure. It may help you live longer and lower your chance of having to go to the hospital for heart failure. This product contains 2 medication
s: sacubitril and valsartan. They work by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily, which makes it easier for your heart to pump blood to your body. Cough, dizziness, or lightheadedness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose. Take your next dose at the regular time. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Instructed patient on isorsobide which is used to treat and prevent chest pain, side effects of isorsobide are headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea or vomiting. Headache is often a sign that this medication
is working; treat it with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by your doctor. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
SN instructed patient on new medication
Cholestyramine: This medication
is known as a bile acid-binding resin. It works by removing bile acid from the body. In people with high cholesterol, this causes the liver to make more bile acid by using cholesterol in the blood. This helps to lower the cholesterol levels, patient verbalized understanding.
Cefdinir is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication
is known as a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. Side Effects Diarrhea, headache, or nausea may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. This medication
may cause your stools to turn a reddish color, especially if you also take iron products, this is harmless side effect.
SN instructed patient and caregiver on medication
diazepam, explained that this should be used during times of anxiety. Advised it can cause memory problems, drowsiness, dizziness, and confusion, it increases the patient fall risk as well. Both parties verbalized understanding.
SN educated patient on sucralfate medication
. Patient was instructed that this medication
is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the intestines. Sucralfate forms a coating over ulcers, protecting the area from further injury. This helps ulcers heal more quickly. Patient verbalized understanding.
SN educated on medication
Escitalopram. This medication
is used to treat depression in adults and children and teenagers 12 years or older. Escitalopram is also used to treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD; excessive worry and tension that disrupts daily life for 6 months or longer) in adults. It works by increasing the amount of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that helps maintain mental balance. Escitalopram may cause side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, changes in sex drive or ability, drowsiness, increased sweating, dizziness, heartburn, stomach pain, excessive tiredness, dry mouth, decreased appetite, weight loss, flu-like symptoms, runny nose, sneezing. Tell your doctor if any of those symptoms are severe or do not go away.
Cefpodoxime medication
is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication
is known as a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. Take it with food to help increase the absorption of the drug.
