Taught that the main function of the lungs is to supply oxygen to the blood and to remove carbon dioxide from the blood.
Instructed on some measures aimed to managing/controlling Emphysema, such as: avoid/decrease exposure to excessive heat (which increases oxygen requirements) and avoid/decrease exposure to excessive cold (which increases possibility of bronchospasm), among others.
